San Diego Awaits

Privacy Policy

How this website handles contact details, technical logs, cookies, provider content, and privacy choices.

Last updated: August 30, 2026.

This Privacy Policy explains how San Diego Awaits handles information when you use this website. The website is operated for The Travel Spark Company LLC. This policy describes the site’s technical practices and is not a promise that every third-party service follows identical rules.

Information you choose to provide

If you use the Contact form, the site receives the name, email address, and message you submit. Please do not send payment details, passport numbers, health information, login credentials, or other sensitive information. Contact submissions are used to review and respond to the message, maintain reasonable abuse controls, and keep a limited record of correspondence when needed.

The form uses a hidden field, a security token, server-side validation, and a short-lived request-rate check. The rate check stores a one-way keyed hash derived from the request address for a limited period rather than storing the raw address in that control. Message delivery uses WordPress mail and may be transported by the site’s configured email service. Email systems can retain routing and delivery logs under their own policies.

Technical information

The web server, security tools, caching systems, backup systems, and WordPress may process standard technical data such as request time, requested URL, referring page, browser and device information, response status, and network address. This information is used to serve pages, prevent abuse, diagnose errors, maintain security, and preserve backups. Security and hosting logs can have different retention periods based on operational need and provider settings.

Administrators who sign in receive WordPress authentication and preference cookies. Public visitors may receive essential cookies when a feature requires them. The theme itself does not load an analytics platform, advertising pixel, map, chat service, or social embed. If a nonessential service is added later, its disclosure and any required consent control should be reviewed before activation.

Tours, affiliate links, and external services

The Tours page and some article placements may display information returned by an authorized travel-inventory integration. Provider content can include images, descriptions, prices, review information, availability, and outbound links. That information remains provider-supplied. Following an outbound link can disclose ordinary request information to the destination site, and the destination may use cookies or other technologies under its own privacy policy.

Some outbound links may be affiliate links. If a reader completes a qualifying transaction after following one, the site may earn a commission without changing the reader’s displayed price. A transaction, account, payment, cancellation, refund, or booking made on an external service is handled by that service, not by this website.

Embedded content and links

Articles can link to museums, parks, public agencies, transit operators, cultural organizations, restaurants, accommodation providers, and other websites. A link does not transfer this policy to that site. External sites can collect technical or account information, set cookies, or record interactions according to their own terms and privacy notices. The theme avoids loading nonessential embedded content before it is needed.

Comments and accounts

The starter site does not rely on public comments, public registration, or customer accounts. If those features are enabled later, WordPress may collect the fields shown in the relevant form as well as technical information used for moderation, security, and authentication. This policy should be updated before materially different account or community features are launched.

Data sharing

Information can be processed by service providers that support hosting, security, backups, caching, email delivery, site management, search visibility, and authorized travel inventory. Providers receive only the information their function requires, subject to their contracts and policies. Information may also be preserved or disclosed when reasonably necessary to protect the site, investigate abuse, comply with a lawful request, or establish or defend legal rights.

The site does not sell Contact-form messages as a data product. It does not use Contact-form details to create a travel subscriber list unless a person separately chooses a clearly described subscription process.

Retention and security

Contact correspondence is kept only as long as reasonably useful for the conversation, correction history, abuse prevention, or legal and operational needs. Backups can retain older copies for a limited cycle. Technical and security logs are retained according to system settings and the needs of investigation and recovery.

The site uses WordPress security controls, access restrictions, input validation, output escaping, request tokens, rate controls, managed backups, and transport encryption where supported. No online system can promise absolute security. People should avoid sending sensitive information through an ordinary website form.

Your choices and requests

You can choose not to use the Contact form, avoid outbound provider links, adjust browser cookie controls, or contact the operator to ask about information you previously submitted. Depending on where you live and the circumstances, you may have legal rights concerning access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability. A request may require reasonable identity verification and can be limited by security, recordkeeping, or legal obligations.

Use the Contact page for a privacy request and describe the information or interaction at issue. Do not place identity documents in the first message. The operator will explain a safer verification path if one is necessary.

Children

This general travel guide is not designed to collect personal information from children. A parent or guardian who believes a child submitted personal information can use the Contact page to request review.

Changes to this policy

This policy may change when site features, providers, or legal requirements change. The updated date will be revised when a material change is published. Readers should review the current version rather than relying on a saved older copy.
