San Diego Awaits is an independent editorial guide for travelers who want the coast, city, culture, food, bay, and open space to form one coherent trip. We organize stories by useful connections: shoreline to neighborhood, park to museum, canyon to street, and morning conditions to evening plans.

Our writing aims to be practical, source-aware, and clear about uncertainty. We do not present current prices, hours, schedules, availability, or access rules without a current responsible source. When a detail can change, we point readers toward the venue, public agency, land manager, transit operator, or authorized provider that owns it.

Editorial care

Living Kumeyaay culture is community-owned and cannot be reduced to a design motif or a visitor anecdote. Public art has artists and histories. Cross-border stories involve distinct people and places on both sides of an international boundary. Our goal is to name sources, respect authorship, and avoid turning culture into scenery.

Photography is used as documentary context, not proof of current conditions. Each packaged site image has an individual source and recorded license. Commercial relationships and provider-supplied inventory are identified where they appear, and editorial guidance does not invent endorsements or firsthand experience.

Corrections and questions
